Bobby Lawrence
Artist Robert (Bobby) Lawrence was born in South Africa in 1933. Raised on a farm near White River in the Lowveld, he rebelled against his father to not join the family farm in favour of pursuing a career in the arts.
Married to Milly, he produced many artworks, most notably sculptures that were widely sought after both within South Africa and beyond. A colourful character, much loved by those who met him, Bobby travelled the world with Milly and their daughter Vivienne (also featured on this website). Milly was artistic in her own right, producing exquisite wood carvings and panels.
While most of his limited series of sculptures have been sold out, Vivienne is the custodian of her late father’s remaining work and can be contacted to discuss purchase of these works.
